The Provincial Roads form the appendages to the higway grid. Ranging in calibre from high-quality 2-lane hard surface to low-maintenance 2 lane gravel, the PRs service most communities in Manitoba which are unserviced by PTH roads. They are secondary highways. The numbering of these roads tends to cluster a little more than does the numbering of PTH roads.
