PTH 50-110
One thing which quickly becomes evident in studying the highway grid is that there is yet room for expansion within the PTH series. Although PTH routes are designated from 1 to 110, there are many unused numbers within that range--more so in the range from 50 to 110. The PTH series are major, high-traffic highways. There are several levels of highway within the PTH designation, from multi-lane controlled access highways to two-lane improved gravel-surface. All are considered major highways. There is potential for some PRs to be upgraded to PTH class in the heavily travelled areas north of Winnipeg.
